Knots, Trousers and Pudding

There's something about not blogging in 12 years and coming back to it.

:D

The prodigal blogger has returned.

No really. There's also something amazing about knots, and how they hold together so nicely. Or something like that. Well.... Not my knots.... But well constructed knots.... :D Yes, I pretty much flunked boy-scouts.... No worries, I made up for it in the beauty department. I could never be a boy-scout, for a myriad of reasons, the first being that I'm not a boy. Second, that I don't have the attention span to tolerate all of the other stupid little boy-scouts.

Anywho, I've fallen in love [again] with trousers. There's something magical about them. Well.... If masculinizing femininity is magical.... Truly, I am reminded of Manwear Wednesdays. I'm not entirely sure if I'll continue that fad at my school next year. It didn't exactly catch on.... I suppose the rest of them female student body wasn't as jazzed about cross dressing one day per week as I was....

Success of the day. I made the most amazing pudding, from scratch, and you would never eat it if I told you what was in it. Well.... Maybe you would.... It was made from firm tofu, cocoa powder, a dash of sugar, vanilla, salt, and probably some other stuff that I'm not remembering. It. Was. Absolutely. Amazing. So much better than the mousse.... Don't get me wrong. The mousse was amazing. However. This was astonishingly tasty and surprisingly healthy. What other pudding has more than 6 g of protein per serving? Yeah. No kidding. {: Love it.

Seeing as I'm slightly summer-ed out, I suppose I'll be gone. Cheers.

Memory, Senescence and Stuff Like That

Apparently I'm older than I thought.... My memory is so shot it's not even funny! Well.... It might be, if it weren't reality.... :D More on that later, if you're lucky.

Anywho, because I look so young for my age, it's ridiculous to try to tell people how old I really am. When I do, they usually just laugh and brush it off. Haha, very funny. I think most of it has to do with my height, though it's pretty much ideal. I don't get it....

Ragh. I'm so done with blogging today. I seriously need to crash.

For some stupid reason, last night I didn't get to sleep until 2 am, simply because at 1 am I started to crave hot food, so I made hot food, and then was endorphined until I pretty much cried, partly from the chili hot food, but mostly from the run earlier that evening. Yeah. It was lots of fun to wake up at 8 am this morning. Loved it! Can't wait to do it again!

Ha. I'm gone. Cheers.

The Greatness of Running, Michael Jackson and Tofu Mousse

AHHHH!!!! RUNNING IS ONE OF MY NEW FAVORITE PAST TIMES! :D Probably why you're done hearing about it.... However, I'm not done sharing. {: Today was an absolutely fantastic run. Loved it! Probably because I was all hyped up on carbs, so I was totally ready. Plus, it was later in the day, so I totally had time to hydrate. HUZZAH! :D

Today is a very sad day. One of my heroes, Michael Jackson, is now gone. No worries though, his legend will live on. I'm considering denying his death, like some people feel about Elvis. But, denial is NOT! a river in Egypt, so I suppose I'll celebrate his amazing music, and be glad that he's been so generous and philanthropic.

My sugar-free life is crashing! Almost. :D I made a vegetarian mousse today, and it was absolutely fantastic! But it was really sugary, compared to what I've been eating [or not eating, if you will]. Even though it was made with semi-sweet chocolate, it was still waaaaaaaay sugar loaded. Likely what influenced the greatness of my run.... :D Huzzah! Ironically, it was made of tofu, and very delicious. {: I'm gone. Cheers!

Fluids, Peanut Butter and Time

UGH!

MORNING RUNS SUCK!

There are reasons why I'm a NOT! a morning person!

I'd think that because I'm not a morning person I wouldn't go running in the morning.

My work schedule dictates otherwise.

Oh well. However, I will admit that most morning runs are sucky, because I haven't had time to hydrate before I go run. Yuck! That gets weird.

Anywho, we're completely out of natural peanut butter. It is a sad day. I've had to revert back to the super-hydrogenated crap. Anything that tastes that amazing has to be crappy for me. But my gosh. It's so... amazing! Probably all of the hydrogen going to my head.... I might as well have Tay-Sachs.

Seeing as I'm completely behind on most other things, I'll keep this brief. I have to warn you, during the summer I definitely blog less, and about more intense topics. So you're pretty much getting the same thing, just in different proportions. :D Cheers!

Migraines, Day Camp and Gak

Welcome back to the wonderful world of early morning vomit inducing migraine morning sickeness! :D We've missed you! Ha. More like I haven't missed needing to get up at 5 am to barf because of mingrane pressure behind one or both eyes. Yeah.... At least now I can use the excuse that I know exactly what morning sickness is like. Several times over. :D However, I'm glad to report it's not as bad as last summer's. It went on for a few months straight, and I was definitely more sick, and for longer periods of time each day. It. Was. Unadulterated. Hell. Hopefully this doesn't last long..... :D

Apart from that, I subjected myself to 7.5 hours of whiny little boys, alien slime, and states of matter. With a good friend of course, so it wasn't as bad. Plus, we earned really super cool T-Shirts. Well.... Actually, we had to finagle them.... Here's how. Because we volunteered we were strictly under the impression that our time was worth much more than a measly $12 T-Shirt. However, the camp directors didn't agree. After Guilt tripping them about how we took time off work where we would have been paid much more than simply $12 for 7.5 hours of work, they changed their minds rather quickly. Unfortunately, it took another 20 minutes to get the right shirt size. When we asked for youth L, we got adult M, because the gentleman thought youth L would be too small. HA! Not quite. In fact, they fit rather nicely. While we would have loved adult S, they didn't carry that size.... So, we were stuck with youth L. What he didn't tell us was that he had youth L, so he gave us adult M anyway. Only after whining [yes, we resorted to whiny little teenage girl mode] that some of the boys got youth Ls, did we get one as well. CRACK!

While manning [or womaning?] our station, there were 9 rotations throughout the day. So... We pretty much said the same thing, and made the same junk 9 different times, every time vowing never to have 9 little boys all the same ages. You wouldn't believe how WHINY! they are! GADS! They're whinier than me! On a good day! Not only that, but they're smarter. Clearly aliens can't have red slime, because they're green. HA! And of course they can't just be happy with their stupid gak that they got, they want a different color, and they want more of it. GRR!!!!!

All of this just for a stinking T-Shirt and the majority of my service hours for honor society!

THIS T-SHIRT WAS WELL WORTH IT THOUGH! Maybe I'll have pictures some time. Who knows. I might just wear it for my senior pictures..... xD

Cheers!

Horns, Burns and Apples

Some morons in this world shouldn't have access to a car horn. I.E. The morons on my street having a seizure by the sounds of his stupid car horn when I'm trying [obviously unsuccessfully] to take a nap!

RAGH!

IDIOTS!

Should be blown off the face of the planet.

However, then I'd be gone. Ridiculous story time. Aren't they all? Whatev. I was straightening my hair this morning, and grabbed the wrong end of my straightener. Who does that?! Me, apparently. Suffice it to say that my thumb is now very stingy and sore. Sad day! \:

While on my limited-sugar-adventure, I've discovered that apples are highly addictive. The red ones are pretty much way gross, simply because they have so much sugar in them. I've developed a new love for yellow and green apples. UM YEAH! :D And I thought I'd never say that.... Anywho, leave it be said that one of my new favorite fruits is apples, in addition to the fifty million other fruits I already adore.

Shazaam! Or something like that. :D Cheers!

Fingerpricks, Nail Polish and Dads

Wow.

Where they tested yesterday for Fe is now distinctly painful. Both places. My guess is because there's more of a concentration of nerve endings on the immediate fingertips versus the side of the finger where they usually take a sample. I don't believe that I could ever happily be diabetic, and take finger samples. Hopefully, that never happens.

Through my years of wearing nail polish, I'm pretty much a n00b to the color coral. I've always loved it, but I've never been man enough to wear it as a nail color. The reason I say this, is because it washes out almost everyone else in my family. However, I happen to rock it quite nicely. Since I've discovered this, I pretty much do coral nails every third nail painting. I.E. Tonight. Huzzah! :D There's just something about being 75% albino that allows for coral.... Note to self: Suggest coral as a dress standard for family photos if your esteem is down.

Seeing as it's obviously Fathers' Day.... I suppose I'll publicly [with no pictures....] express my appreciation for my dad. Whoa he's crazy. And has some ridiculous rules. But come on. I inherited his humor. Or dry streak. Or lack of humor entirely. I have to appreciate him! Plus he's oober supportive. And he has good taste in ice cream. For the most part. Even though he doesn't like Cherry Garcia or Mint Chocolate Chip.... Or Skittles. Or black licorice for that matter. But he does appreciate Tom's Of Maine Fennel toothpaste.... Anywho, I really do love him, even if I don't entirely express it.

Now that I've spilled my guts everywhere.... I suppose I'll wait for my nails to finish drying. Cheers! :D

Swings, Blood and Circuses

HUZZAH! :D Might I just say that todays run was excellent. Well.... Except that Winstead park is only two blocks from Curtis, and fifty million from Cole. Guess which way we ran? Yes. To where on the way back we were coming from Cole. Yeah. No route has never seemed so long. The most amazing feature of today's run, and probably the only reason I didn't quit coming back from Cole, was that Winstead park has... SWINGS! :D Heckess! Love swings.... I absolutely adore swings.... I love swings more than I enjoy mowing my lawn. Yes. That's how much I love swings. I pretty much revert to the age of four forever when there are swings around.

After prying my wrapped fingers from the swings, we made our way home, and then to get pretty [or at least less running-y] to go donate blood. I have to admit something strange. Call it an idiosyncrasy. I love giving blood. I really do. Just don't show me the needle as it's happening. Going in and coming out, no problem, if I can't see that either. Hooray! :D The fact that I was made for donating blood helps as well. Think about it logically. I have the veins of a four year old [the only negative, but with hydration and exercise they're perfect; just narrow], they're deep [so I don't bleed out profusely afterward], because I'm "sturdy" I contain lots of blood [I like to think more than 8 pints, but whatev], and I don't get sick before, during, or after donation. Tired? Definitely. I've just had 1/8 of my blood sucked out by sang. vampires! But sick? No way. Perfect. However, when they tested me for iron content, the first time I came out anemic, but the second I was perfect. Yeah.... I'm pretty much an ironic beast.

Because of this lovely blood drive [which I got a T shirt out of. YES! A T SHIRT! :D Sadly, it's a size M, and I clearly am not a size M, so I figure I'll cut it, and tie dye it or something awesome....], my availability to go to the circus was drastically impaired. So... While my mom was taking my niece during the afternoon, I would be getting my fluids altered. No problem, she and I were going to go to the evening production. Haha, just kidding. She wouldn't have time in between the shows.... So it looks like Mel didn't get to go to the circus for the third year in row.... -Sigh- No cotton candy.... I suppose it's all for the better. Ever since I discovered Boise has a Ben & Jerry's ice cream shop I've been almost wanting to kick my sugar kick. I don't even care that I've been burning excessive calories for the past month. I about died when I saw the happy Ben & Jerry's logo shining in the window. I don't know.... This no sugar kick has been great. I don't feel as clogged as my brain usually is. Plus, I have no excuse for weight gain. Come to think of it, there hasn't been any weight gain. Psh. Never mind. I don't know what I'm talking about anymore. But I still didn't get any cotton candy from the circus I didn't go to....

Oh well.... I suppose I'll go eat an apple. Or something super sugary. To make up for the cotton candy. Cheers! :D

More Rain, Smoothies and Hold Please

Yes. It's still raining. Buckets. And buckets. And buckets of rain. -Sigh- So not fun to run in. Because of this, I rode my bike instead. Oh yes. That's logical. P.S. Ten miles of biking equates to 40 minutes of running. Fun fact. However, because it's non-weight-bearing, it uses completely different muscles. I'm sure I'll feel that tomorrow.

In any case, when I got home I made one of the best smoothies of my entire life. Um yeah. It was tight. However, placing three cups of frozen fruit in my VitaMix with only 1/2 cup of soy milk didn't make it too happy. Note to self: More liquids before you jam it with lovely fruit. :D The results were absolutely fabulous. It was pretty much a mixed-berry sorbet. Um yeah. With mega protein. Hooray for health consciousness! :D

Seeing as I've officially been at my job for two weeks [yes, TWO!], I've pretty much become less intimidated by the phone. Don't laugh when I tell you that if it's not for me I don't want to answer it. I still feel that way. So now I just have the mind-set that they have to call me to make appointments anywho, so circumloqutionaryily, it really is for me. Problem solved! :D Unless they ask for someone else. Then my heart just breaks. Oh well.... That's what the stapler is for.... While I'm not even close to being perfect at it yet, I absolutely adore working at my place of employment. It. Seriously. Rocks. Plus it gives me something to do everyday. Huzzah! :D

I suppose since it is Friday night after all that I should go party, or something more age-appropriate than blogging. :D Cheers!

Mosquitoes, Fishnets and Nightmares

There are some things in life that should never have been created. I.E. Things that don't have an opposite, or purpose. Not only do they create an imbalance in qi, chances are they're likely annoying and pesky. Like.... Oh.... I don't know.... MOSQUITOES?! Yeah. No fake. So dumb! They're vectors for disease and all that jazz! They have no positive effect!!! RAGH!!!! I HATE MOSQUITOES!!!!

On a happier note, I purchased fishnets today. While I should have looked for a mosquito net whilst there, I didn't think of it. Huzzah! The only slightly tragic part of this purchase was that I allowed myself to spend $10 on them. BUT COME ON! THEY'RE FISHNETS! AND THEY'RE AMAZING! Besides.... I only purchase them four times a year.... :D

I have to admit, I've been having ridiculously violent nightmares for the past few weeks. If they're not violent, they're completely tripped out. Because of this, I'm usually cranky when I wake up for the final time, due to waking up fifty times during the night. Not so cool. Anywho, now that I'm awake and happy [and waiting for my hair to dry], I suppose I'll go nREM until I cry. :D Cheers!

Wet Grass, Techno and Cherries

So.... I was going to get up at 8:30 this morning to have my lawn mowed before I had to go to work.... But it looks like that didn't happen.... Again.... :D

But I have a legit excuse. Like I did last time. The grass was wet again!

Maybe if it didn't RAIN! every day....

What is this?

SEATTLE?!

Hmph!

Seriously though, because I was stuck inside not mowing this morning, I decided to get oober pretty. Well. Almost oober pretty. It doesn't work entirely well when half of my stupidly amazing wardrobe is now too big [mainly because I shop NOT! during the running season, so I either buy my clothes 2 sizes too small and look like junk during the winter, or I buy them to fit off season and look awful in the on season. Oh the life of a Drama Queen!]!!! However, I was able to throw together a half decent looking ensemble. Or something like it.... Had I taken a picture, you could see for yourself, but do I ever think of stuff like that? No. Not usually.

While I've definitely displayed my love for techno, I'm not entirely sure how much I've expressed my adoration for getting new music, and being reminded of classics. As always, love Cascada's Everytime We Touch, Basshunter's Hallaa Dar, as well as one of my new faves Raindrops by Stunt. Just a thought. :D

So.... Just because I didn't mow my lawn this morning before work doesn't mean that it didn't get at least half done today.... :D However, likely the reason I only finished half would be the black jewels shining from my cherry tree. Um yeah. Ten thousand cherries! OR MORE! Apparently I've never publicized my love for cherries.... Consider them the cucumbers of red fruit. Actually.... Of the red fruits, cherries, pomegranates, grapefruits, [purple] grapes, and strawberries [preferably sun warmed] happen to be my favorites. Love them! :D What can I say? I'm pretty much a fruit junkie.... {: Because of this, as I was mowing my lawn, the front took close to fifty thousand years, likely because I stopped to pick cherries every time I pass the cherry trees.... Oops. :D I had planned on splitting my lawn between two days anywho, simply because I didn't get it done in the morning. Sad day. But it worked out nicely. {:

Anywho, seeing as the lateness of the hour, I suppose I'll be gone to bed. Or something like it. Cheers! :D

Metablognition, The Ultimate Blonde and Cucumbers

Huzzah! Today was the offical start of preseason xc training. {: Love it! However, I'll admit I'm absolutely AWFUL! at running! And I thought that one week would be a great headstart! Ha.... Well it was.... Compared to what I was capable of one week ago.... I'll admit something that I don't often. I have a total weakness for endorphins. As I've discovered, one of the best ways to tap into them is through physical exertion. -Sigh- Because I'm an endorphin junkie that means that I actually have to do exercise to get to them! Great.... If you have any other [preferable legal] taps, I'd love to hear.

Yeah. I pretty much made up one of the most amazing almost-legit words today. Think of it. Blogging about blogging. That's deep. Metablognition. I like it. Spell check doesn't. But that's because I'm cooler than it is. Yes. It's jealous. I already know.

Anywho, because I have proof that I was originally blonde, I didn't feel entirely out of place being the absolutely epitome of one. Gads. Sometimes I scare myself. Other times I just scare other people. Here's how it all rolled out. As said before, today was the first official day of training. Or something like that. Because of this, I took great care and caution to recheck and make sure I didn't leave my lights on, or my keys locked in, or something stupid to where my vehicle wouldn't start. After a happy run, we came back to my truck, and when I attempted to start it, the interior lights and dashboard lights all flickered. Huzzah! Now to actually start, that was a different story. After several tears and a few more tries to ignite, I finally sucked it up like a man and asked for a jump. Luckily, I located some jump cables [ironically not mine, seeing as how freakish my dad can be about having some things in my vehicle. Seriously! I have three phone books, several coats, a variety of first aid materials, GOOP (for tires), and an assortment of other strange flavors, but NO! jump cables. Cute....], and some people who knew how to use them. After my car didn't start, I called my mom and why in the sky's name my vehicle wasn't starting. Knowing me slightly well, she asked what gear it was in. Having parked on a slight incline, I thought fo sho I was in park. Reality check? Yes. What gear was I in? Drive. How brunette am I? Only aesthetically. Gads....

In my adventure as a vegetarian, I've become particularly fond of a few vegetables more than others. Zuchinni for certain, as well as cucumbers. While I've always loved pickles [dill of course], I've never been enamored with the high sodium of them. Sad day. Luckily, I have a low sodium diet in the first place, so pickles never were a problem. In any case, my point is that my love for cucumbers has entirely been anewed. I've even taken to eating them skin on. Yes. That's right. Raw and crisp. Huzzah! :D Love cucumbers....

Well, now that I've revealed most of my deep dark secrets, I suppose I'll be out to sleep them off. Cheers! :D

ACTs Pt II, Keys and Who Knows What

Yes, I did take the ACT again. Hopefully, I did better this time. Once again, I was denied automatic enterance, likely because the ACT system hates me, so it never registers me on the school's list of applicants. So.... Even when I showed up with my authorized entrance ticket, I had to wait in line with the stand-by's. That was SO! embarrassing! It was like everybody filing by was looking at me like I didn't know how to run my life and I had no thought for the future other than stand-by. Oh well. At least I registered for it myself, and didn't have my mom do it for me. :D

While the ACT was ten thousand buckets of fun, it was also very cold. When I got dressed this morning in my favorite blue jeans and my Capital High Key Club shirt, gloves and jacket, I fully expected to need to remove them during the test. To my highly unpleasant surprise, the room was a crisp 66 degrees the entire time. This wouldn't have been absolutely awful, had the proctor not continued to chill the room every time the over worked AC attempted to rest. I felt like a catatonic vegetable in a crisper! Not exactly the ideal test taking atmosphere. Not that outside was any better. When I walked out it was raining, cloudy, and cold. I thought it was strange how I couldn't find my keys on the way out, until I got to my vehicle. THEN! I found them. {: In my ignition, with locked doors. I. Am. Fabulous. That's all. A few phone calls and 40 minutes later, my brother arrived with a set of keys for me to unlock my doors with. Happily, I had my lunch with me, so I didn't absolutely starve. My mom loves me so much.

Upon arriving home, I discovered my two Boise siblings and their families at my house. A delightful surprise after spending the last four hours mentally exhausting my skills and abilities! I was jazzed. {: So we had lunch, and then I took a nap. Ironically, it seems that whenever I take a nap or go to bed, whenever I wake up my family has disappeared. I suppose that's nice to know if I ever tire of them. Suffice it to say, the nap was fabulously spectacular. It was the kind where it felt like five hours' worth, but in reality was a scant one.

Happily, or unhappily, I woke up to my mom telling me my running buddy was waiting for me. -Sigh- It's true. Running, work, and a few other things [none of which I can remember] is pretty much all I've done this summer, and I've been completely happy with it. To some extent. I'm not saying that I'm a hard-core runner yet. But I'm not saying that I hate it either. Anywho, it was definitely a sluggish running day. It poured kiloliters on us as we were driving to the park! Kiloliters! It was huge. Happily, we didn't entirely have to run in it. {: It passed the direction we were NOT! going. :D Weraq.

I don't really have a third item to display emotion about. However, I will say that a very good friend and I went to dinner this evening. It was absolutely fabulous! It was his first time at Mongolian BBQ, so he was pretty much a n00b, but he did enjoy it, so I'm glad of that. Other than that, not a lot has happened that's blog-worthy. So I suppose I'll just stop there and scurry to bed or something. Cheers! :D

Traffic, Passwords and Calories

Um whoa. I was late for the first time today to work.

Um whoa. I was so extremely embarrassed.

Um whoa. That's never going to happen again.

No kidding! Walking in 15 minutes late was pretty much like walking down the road to Hell and back. I don't even care if it was paved with adjectives! It was still awful! I even left in plenty of time! I gave myself 35 minutes to complete the 25 minute commute! Good gads! It all started when I decided to take State Street instead of Glenwood. Bad idea! State Street is backed up from Glenwood to Eagle Road! AND THE LINE IS CRAWLING!!! Uh yeah. It took me 30 minutes to get to Glenwood. NOT! Funny. So that left me five minutes to get to work, while I still had 20 minutes to go! Even not funnier! If there's anything I hate in this world that's road related, it's stupid drivers, inattentive drivers, and construction traffic with the aforementioned. MORONS! Ironically, a Snickers sounds really good right now. That's odd. I kicked sugar a few months ago. Strange....

Anywho, for work I was required to set up ten thousand new passwords. However, because I'm awesome, I tend to stick to ones that are quite related. However, I seemed to have a problem today when I kept entering the one I'd chosen for that system, and it kept rejecting me. My coworkers and boss were thinking I was crazy. Quite literally! I wouldn't have blamed them though. It turns out I wasn't crazy [as they were thinking], but I wasn't granted access to that system yet. Huzzah! :D I even changed my password three times to make sure I got in. Hooray for that jazz.

So.... Because yesterday was such a great run, I suppose today was destined not to be...? No really. It was... weird. I suppose I should preface by stating that I've been on a major health kick for a few months, and a hard-core no sugar regiment for almost a month. During this time period, I've pretty much restricted any crap out of my diet, and stuck with the lovely protein sources [i.e. soy, beans and corn, cottage cheese, ect.], fruits, vegetables, whole grains [i.e. old people fiber cereals (yeah, that's right, I rock the All-Bran Bran Buds!)], and occasionally some super carbs like a piece of toast or something. However, apparently today I didn't get enough calories, though I likely exceeded my protein count. Because of this, I didn't even feel like running. Did I know this before hand? No. Did I blame it on menstruation [another story entirely]? Partly. Did I whine about it to my mom? Naturally. Did I go more than thirty yards after getting to the park? No. Did we come back home and attempt a bike ride? Yes. Did I get past the first hill? Not really. Did we go home after that? Certainly. Do I still feel like a jelly fish inside? True story. Have I ever understood rhetorical questions? Always.

I suppose I'm just whining about how almost anorexic I am again. Only not really, because I feel no motivation to continue my stupid cross country training. I hope I'm just in a bad mood and will feel ten thousand times better and more excited to run tomorrow. I hope I'm antsy at work because I want to be running. I hope that because I didn't run today I'll want to run twice as long tomorrow. I hope that my body functions properly and my knees don't freeze up so I can run twice as long tomorrow. I hope I eat enough calories tomorrow to think clearly. I hope I don't repeat my 4th through 6th grade eating disorder. I hope I reshape my body naturally; like normal people. I hope I accidently reshape my body because of a new love for running. I hope I sleep well tonight. Cheers.

Running, Showers and Squirrels!

Huzzah! :D I hit runners' high today! Well.... Long before I started running.... Actually.... Not entirely that long.... Just about 32 minutes.... I'm still calling it runners' high because it lasted through the run and thereafer.

Here's how it shook out. I worked until 8 this evening, which meant either we had to run in the morning where I could be home and cleaned up by 11, or run in the evening. For some unknown reason, I thought running at 10 a.m. would be a great idea. Yeah.... When he came at 10 I was angry, he was angry, and we both were tired. Nevertheless, because we're so awesome, we went to the park anyway and were going to carry through. Bad idea number two. When we got to the park, it was cloudy and looked a little like rain. However, there were still ten million kidsies playing on the equipment. After internally bawling, I asked if we could come back later tonight. He completely agreed. So while I did waste part of his morning, it actually worked out fabulously. Here's why. :D

For the last two hours of work the weather was crap. It gushed rain! SO! Not running weather! However, once I got home, it was still cloudy, but NOT! raining. Life was good! :D I was pretty psyched about that. I was even more psyched when he arrived and was psyched. Huzzah! Two psyches! Through fits of giggles on the way to the park, we decided we were probably only going to run for 30 minutes. However, it turned out that we ran an extra 5, merely because it was such a great day. Because it was wet[ish], the stupid cotton from the willows and cotton wood trees was subdued, and there were considerably less Greenbelters to be annoyed by. Life was even better! {: Not only was I well hydrated, but I was excited to run, and be running. How weird is that? I think I might be getting better at this. Let's see how tomorrow goes....

Because it's summer, there's definitely a decrease in willingness to shower. Not that you didn't already know that. No, that doesn't mean that I let myself get disgusting. It only means that I feel like letting myself get disgusting. Not really, but you see the point. However, today, after I showered I noticed a beastly razor burn on each of my legs. And I thought I was getting tan! Apparently not.... I suppose that's one more reason for me to go get some sun.... Or something stupid like that. I don't know. I'm perfectly fine being white. At least I'm not fish belly white or anything... as far as you know. :D Sad day about the razor burn, but I'm in too great of a mood to be foiled by it.

Before we started running, there was this dumb little squirrel that was doing this ridiculous merekat scamper. Oh. My. Gosh. It was for some reason quite absolutely hilarious. Of course, I probably appeared to be drugged and out of my mind. No worries though. You would have giggled had you seen it as well. I'm not the only crazy one. :D

Shazaam! I suppose I'm gone to try to sleep off this high. WEIRD! :D Cheers.

Nightmares, Retainers and Love

Eeks! Today has been highly humorous, and only a little bit stressful. Let's start at 8:30 this morning when I was going to get up and mow my lawn, so I would be done with it before our run, and then just get to come home, clean up, and go get my retainer to be done for the day. Notice how it didn't happen. After REMing about making meat products where I snapped and ate them, I woke up in a horrible mood. It was even worse when I looked out the window and saw a thousand droplets of dew on the grass. Obviously, it was too soggy to mow. Sad day! Not entirely though, because I ended up going back to bed, until about 10:40, when I woke up after another nightmare where I was pretty much a daemon with amazing claws, not unlike the freaky kitty chick from X-Men 2. It was fabulous, but still weird. After checking my Scrabble status, I noticed that my very good friend who attended Scrabble club with me had started a game. Huzzah! Love Scrabble.... She's kicking my butt again so far.... However, I've had two Bingo racks with no where to put them. SO! Dissapointing!!! \: Anywho, apparently I lost track of time, because soon my doorbell rang, and it was my trash-kicking running buddy. -Sigh- So much for not being in my pj's when he got there. Anywho, case in point, it was a bad run for some alien reason. I have a feeling I was abducted last night during the meat-mare, and had my lungs stitched together. So not cute.

So after that jazz [and checking the progress of our Scrabble game of course], I cleaned up, didn't have time to do my hair [yes, it frizzed on the way], and just my luck we were doing pictures. Great.... Just what I needed.... All I wanted to do was pick up my amazing retainer, and get-outa-there. That was not to be. Because I'm so amazing, they wanted to hear stories. Come on! I was used to having a 6 week period to get material! Eight days does not equal six weeks.... So I entertained them with the same series of events I've shared thus far. And they would know that if they read my blog. Anywho, the point is, I'm super jazzed about my retainer. Maybe I'll even get a picture up some day. It. Is. Fan. Freaking. Tastic. :D It's black and white zebra stripes with a red glittery case. LOVE IT! However, in retrospective, I have a feeling I should have picked out the hot pink glittery case.... Shazam! My love for it is not diminished. I have the sexiest retainer lisp ever. Good thing I answer phones all day at work....

One thing I've noticed as I've aged [not matured by any means] is that love is so misunderstood. My impression about it is that it's always there, to some extent. The form however, is often misconstrued. When I say "I love you" to the majority of my friends, they freak out because they tend to think I'm romantically interested in them. The majoirty of the time, this isn't even remotely true. But as a person I still love them. It seems that love can only be an attraction between two people, and only those two people. I don't know. My train of thought is derailing, but my love for people changes only in form of attraction, not the strength of the attraction.

Anywho, now that I'm done being slightly philosophical, I suppose I'll go Greek it up and make another Greek salad, ingredients pending. Cheers!

Lenses, Puddles and Diets

Well.... Somebody got a job at a vision store.... Which means that somebody gets to play with all of the display frames and clean them and jazz.... :D I love my job. It's fabulous.

While I absolutely adore puddle-jumping in the proper attire, I'm not exactly jazzed to have no escape around a four inch deep pond in the middle of the Greenbelt. SO! Not my style.... '-' Then again, I suppose running isn't entirely my style, so maybe I'll just get used to it all. As our huzzah to almost cool down afterward, we decided to play on the spring horses, because the stupid park still doesn't have swings. Oh yes. And of course, being me, I forgot my camera. I have to admit though, for not having a bony butt, those dumb little equines really tenderize your coccyx. Not so fun.

I have to admit. My body frame is slightly ridiculous. I'm not saying that in a ridiculous self-loathing typical teenage girl way, I'm saying that from the view of a future physique model. The only reason I bring it up even, is because structurally I'm wide, and I'm ok with that. However, because of that I tend to pack more weight in weird places [like my back. What? Yeah.]. Because of this [this really all does tie in together, I promise] I have to monitor my metabolism, as any health conscious person should do. Really though, my current butt-kicking running buddy has one of the most disgusting dietary intakes ever! I'm not even kidding! True.... Occasionally he'll eat something healthy like a banana or something, but the rest of the time it's pretty much hydrogenated and partially hydrogenated oils and the like for the remainder of his diet. However, because he's such a running fiend, you'd never guess that his diet is crap. -Sigh- It's people like him who put my beautiful body to shame.... My lovely curves look like whale-like obesity comparably.... Granted, he's a guy, and doesn't entirely have curves, but metabolically speaking, I'm shamed. Sad day! Body shape and genetics ties together nicely though, seeing as I'm the only chicka in my family who's currently hard-core active. A few of my brothers are, but naturally they're leaner than me, which is completely understandable. With one of them being a personal trainer and physique model, it makes life easier with a built in support system one phone call and a few messages away. Love it. :D Anywho, my point is, I hate it when people eat all this crap and still manage to appear healthier than me. I mean come on! I have the ideal diet! It's so stupid! I don't understand! No worries though.... My GI tract probably likes me ten thousand stars better than his does his. Or something like that....

Ok, I'm pretty much done whining about all that jazz, so I suppose I'll go do something amazing. More amazing than usual.... Cheers! :D

George Washington, Bevis and Scrabble Club

May I just say that yesterday was absolutely phenomenal? Uh yeah. :D And I just did.

In all seriousness, yesterday was packed.

Though I don't know how I would have pulled that off facetiously.

Maybe "Tee hee hee yesterday was packed tighter than thatch!"

Yeah. Not really....

Anywho though, the Greek Food Fest was once again lovely. And the events to follow of course. :D Those being an adventure to the dollar store, getting caught in torrents of rain [monsoon almost....], a very [relatively] quick game of monopoly, the end of one movie, and the start of another.

As we [we being two of my very good friends and I] were leaving the Greek Food Fest [sad day!], we happened to see in line our English teacher. We were psyched! Two days out of school and Huzzah! Here he was! :D It was absolutely lovely. He was there with his brother and his brother's lady. Very cool.

After that we were on our way back to my house, when the not-so-neon dollar store sign popped out at me, and I exclaimed [yes, exclaimed] "Let's go to the dollar store!" Just like that too. So... a few decades and one funny picture [not for you yet] later, we finally made our purchases and skedaddled out. Our main motivation for even going [besides me] was it was raining profusely, and it was difficult to drive in. Of course we got drenched as we were escaping nature, but once inside there was immediately a display of hula hoops and tropical jazz. The hula hoops were ridiculous, mainly because there was no weight to them. Another sad day! However, the tropical jazz definitely tricked our minds into thinking it was warm. Ish. Well.... It was half way effective. :D

After braving the wild and getting back into the car, we went to my house, where we were pleasantly surprised to find my brother and his family. Huzzah! Monopoly was a distinct possibility at this time! They were originally going to be out of town, but seeing as they weren't, we could SO! include them. However, they didn't entirely was to play, because a. they were watching The Fugitive, and b. they had to go home relatively soon. In which case, we started our game, and about 47 minutes later it was over. It all started out well, sans Martin getting three of the Railroads and two of the yellows. That wasn't horrible, until a trade happened and he started to put houses on them. Then we all just died. Once I hit Marvin's Gardens with $1000+ rent, I just quit and gave him all my property and cash. I didn't feel like mortgaging everything. So I went and cut watermelon instead. Oooh! Call me emo! Just kidding. It shortly ended when my other friend quit [and for good reason!]. Then we watermelon-ed it up, and ended up watching The Princess Bride, which I really actually just slept through most of.

We even took pictures before and after Monopoly. Of course the before included the winner, and the after did NOT!!! No, George Washington was not the winner. Close, but no cigar. :D

Today, my recurring good friend and I decided to join Boise's Scrabble Club. Heckess! :D So we went to the designated place, looked around for a few minutes becuase we couldn't find it, and ran into our English teacher again. We decided that all we have to do to keep seeing him [in a non-creepy way of course] was continue our cultural experience. Yeah. Weraq. However, he wasn't there for Scrabble.... It was totally ok though. [: Gads. He's probably going to think we're stalking him or something.... :D

As to the actual club, it was weak sauce in numbers, but hot sauce in skill. I pretty much died. Uh yeah. Not only that, but apparently you're not allowed to look words up before you play them, unless they're challenged. I immediately felt naked without my dictinoary. Talk about insecure! Take away my makeup, clothes and shoes, but not my dictionary! Gads. That was embarrassing, primarily becuase I misplayed ersatzes as erzates. Still a bingo, but it went unchallenged, and I felt like a complete numbskull when I looked it up and it was ersatz[es]. Very sad! It was my only bingo of the game, and it was a really low scoring game. However, my opponent did amazingly! :D She kicked my trash, AND! it was one of her first official plays of the game. Love it! We almost went with the intent of picking up cute bookstore guys, but seeing as the other Scrabblers were all +60 it didn't quite happen.

-Sigh-

That all turned out more humorous than I intended....

Oh well. I'm out to do something productive. Cheers! :D

Cub Scouts, Socks and Shoes

There are just some things about being a lady that limit activities. I.E. Boy Scouts. I've never been a Boy Scout. That doesn't mean that I haven't been the daughter of a Cub/Boy Scout leader since the beginning of time, it just means that I have never been a Boy Scout. No worries though! I volunteered [or something like that...] to work a station at Scout Day Camp this year, and HUZZAH! Training was at 9 'o' clock this morning. :D It's going to be an absolute blast! For this reason, I'm slightly jealous that I never got to be a Boy Scout. But I'm content being pretty. I'm too girly to be a boy. Thankfully, I'm a chicka.

On my way to go pick up my new running shoes, I meant to stop by my house and pick up a pair of socks. However, before I get to that, I need to retrace my series of events. Because today was rainy and cold, I decided to pick up some running pants. P.S. Manufacturers don't make running pants for short people. Correction: Manufacturers don't make running pants for short people with amazing quads and hips. Sad day! So I ended up getting some stupid short short pants. Not funny. It defeats the purpose of legwarmers if they end directly below the knee! Wait.... THAT'S IT! :D ALL I HAVE TO DO IS WEAR LEG WARMERS! Fabulous..... I love it! {:

Anywho, so I forgot the stupid socks that I stopped home to get, so when I got to the store I had to borrow a pair of their stupid socks. Weird. However, my shoes are perfect, as I thought they would be. They're absolutely fabulous! Happily, my feet are exactly the same size. When I went in earlier the chicka measured my feet and was surprised to see they are highly identical. Apparently most people's feet are a 1/2 size difference? Nifty! I'm abnormally normal. :D Love that.

Really though, my shoes came, and I absolutely feel in love with them. They're GREEN! :D Aka one of my favorite colors. Love green.... Happily, they support my arches, so I don't move my hips inordinately, which tends to stretch out my hip muscle things to be very tender the day after. Yea for lactic acid. Running just became gobs easier, now that I have the proper equipment. :D

In any case, I'm out to the Greek food fest again [as promised] after today's run. I hope to be able to recount amazing stories of Greek jazz. Or something like it. :D Cheers!

Inguinal Jazz, Pumpkin Pie and Greece

-Sigh-

Once again, my stress levels are rising over this stupid book. When I went to turn it in to the library today, having already checked with the sistering library to reassure the legality of exchanging a copy for copy, the lady at my library said it wasn't legit or accepted. CAN THEY MESS WITH MY HEAD ANY MORE PLEASE?! Good gads! Apparently I still have until the 17th to find their copy. IF I HAVEN'T FOUND IT IN THE PAST THREE MONTHS WHY WOULD I FIND IT IN THE NEXT 13 DAYS?! Geeze lady.... Nice.... Really nice.... I'm about to buck the entire system, refuse to pay the fine, and never go back... but I like the library too much.... I'm a big fan of borrowing, if I'm the one that's borrowing something. I'm completely responsible too! I even told her the situation of how it sprouted legs, walked away, and got stuck in a black hole! To this she told be to check my garage.

I felt like I got hit by a bus when I woke up this morning. Yeah. It was bad. I vote we start stretching before we run. Just a thought. You know, because not everybody is completely inflexible and can't stretch. Yeah. Apparently running takes major inner hip flexor muscles. Need more be said?

Anywho, so I after I got up today and made a Greek salad [love it!!!!], I made another crust-less pumpkin pie [sort of my weakness]. A number of hours later after it had chilled and slightly frozen, I was nearly in paradise. Except for the gigantic mess transferred from my locker to my counter.... I vowed to work on that later though. :D

Seeing as it's the annual Greek Food Festival today and tomorrow, my very good friend and I went to preview it before we attended another event. Oh. My. Gosh. We spotted the most adorable gyro maker in the entire universe. Yeah. We were pretty much love-struck. For the rest of the night we compared Boise to him. Well.... Had there been a comparison. :D Crazy stuff. We decided that we're going to make T shirts that read something to the effect of "I love Greek food... Workers." Which is true.... But I also have a thing for Greek food.... *Note to potential suitors: Mel adores Greek food, and is vegetarian, so please keep that in mind. Anywho, she and I are thinking of heading back tomorrow instead of playing Monopoly, as planned. I'm psyched. :D Love Greek food....

Well, I suppose I'm out to enjoy my school-free summer evening. Cheers! :D

English, Cabbage and Naps

-Sigh-

In case you're wondering, my book Blink came today. I sort of don't want to give it to the library.... However, I suppose that to be deemed responsible, I'm obligated to.

Anywho, HUZZAH! :D Go me! It was most definitely the last day of school today. Seeing as it was, I decided to sleep in, get up, do my makeup [and say a little prayer for you?], and make myself a smoothie before I left. I now know why it takes me 30 minutes to make a smoothie it takes my mom 6 to do. I measure the dickens out of all of my ingredients. Well.... Not really, but I add stuff and tweak it until it's perfect. Don't misunderstand me, my mother's smoothies are absolutely amazing. But mine are better. I.E. Today's. First I started with frozen blueberries, strawberries, and blackberries. Then, I added my protein jazz [I'll refrain from specifying, lest you think less of me, and no, it doesn't include human]. After that, I added some yogurt, and finally the soymilk. After clogging the cogs several times on the thickness of the fruit, I finally had concocted the perfect smoothie. Calorically it was ideal, while tastefully it was delicious and delectable.

Whilst at school, I checked a few things I needed to clear up. I also gutted my locker. It was very sad to take down everything. I cried a little inside. Apart from that, I also cried at leaving my junior year behind. Really, I'm just a bawl baby. Anywho, English this year has been the best class of my entire life. In class writes included! I won't say that parts of it didn't suck, but overall, my love for literature and writing has proliferated immensely, as has my love for my English teacher. Yeah.... That didn't come out creepy.... However, in all honesty, he is one of my favorite people in the entire world, and I'm sad to leave, and for him to switch schools for the time being.

However, a good friend and I had a celebratory lunch date after school. It was absolutely fabulous. We went to Mongolian BBQ and then to the park. Happily, I put loads of cabbage [red and green] into my stir-fry. It was most excellent! Though after tasting it, I realized I should have left out the corn, added more carrots and broccoli, and less sunflower seeds. Everything else was correctly proportioned. It was fabulous. :D At the park we played on the swings [love swings!] and climbed a tree. We. Always. Have. Fun. [:

Once I had returned home, I had full intentions to take a nap. However, I decided to check my facebook to see if anything awesome was happening instead. Bad idea. Once I was on, another good friend of mine [who encouraged me to join XC and ruin my life] started talking to me. No big deal. It happens all the time with him. However, once I stated that I was about to go take a nap he immediately pounced and said "We should go for a run." Haha, very funny. I suppose he actually said that after I said that I was excited for XC, and that I would probably start before the actual workouts start. THEN he swooped in. I had every right to say no, but I needed to do cardio today anyway, so I unwittingly said yes. Another bad idea. I made him drive. Ooooh. That's intimidating.... A few minutes later, he was at my house ready to go. Great. I was really sucked into this now. So I grabbed my shoes and socks [I always put on the left one first] and headed out. Bad idea number three. Bad idea number four came when I decided to not micturate before we left. It didn't really bother me until twenty minutes into the run. Then I pretty much cried the rest of the way. Sad day. However, it was a motivator to move a little faster, so I can't complain entirely. I have to admit. My main excuse for not going was that I had too much cabbage in my bloodstream and I would die if I went running. Well.... I didn't die, but I sweated cabbage for a solid twenty minutes afterward. That was fun. We even came up with a fabulous line. I said [as a last resort] that I would only run if we got to play on the swings after. However, this park didn't even have swings. LAME!!! ]: Naturally, I whined about this to him [if you couldn't tell I whine a lot, hence the whiny
in whiny teenage drama queen], to which he replied "Then I'll get a rope for you to swing from." I couldn't resist retorting with "I asked for swings, and you gave me a noose." We decided that it was pretty decent, for me not being so witty.

As to wit, my history teacher wrote in my yearbook something to the effect of "I love your wit." Because he is so witty anyway, I decided to throw back "Well Mrs. Walker said I was witty!" during a battle of wits. Yes. I know. Completely immature and childish. But it worked. :D

Once I got back home, my mom wanted to go run some errands, so I went with. It was pretty much awesome. We picked out new frames for her glasses, because she's getting a second pair. Yes. She's cool like that. When she first walked into the store, she picked out a hideous pair of frames. Truly, they looked like they were from the 90's, only worse. Because of her awful selection, I picked up an atrocious pair of this rimmed clearish gray gigantic squares of old-man death and wore them for the remainder of time which we were there. I asked the clerk if I could get a pair just like them, and he said "No." Naturally, I asked why, and he replied "Because I wouldn't sell them to you." Long story short, my mom picked out a better pair of frames, and I had to return the beasts to their shelf.

Seeing as I still haven't had my nap and it's almost time for bed anyway, I suppose I should be out. Cheers. :D

Servings, Cotton and Tomatoes

FINALLY!

THE LAST BLOODY DAY OF HIGH SCHOOL PE!

Shazam! :D While I was planning to ace the final completely, I apparently missed two of the 50 questions, leaving me with a 96%. Not entirely shabby, but less than I expected. One question I know I answered incorrectly [unintentionally of course], was something to the effect of "Which of the following is the correct serving size?" with the choices being something stupid like a. 2 slices of bread b. 8 oz of milk c. 7 oz of protein d. 1 large apple. Knowing my natural aversion towards milk, I had a difficult time deciding between B and D. I picked D, because to me it sounded better, and it was ten thousand times less disgusting. In retrospective, I realize that the milk propogandists really are trying to ruin my life, and the answer was B, because a medium fruit is supposedly a serving. SO DUMB!!! As for the other question I missed, I truly have no recollection, though I'm not entirely surprised, because the test took all of about seven minutes to complete; roughly 13 when double checked.

Because I didn't have a fourth hour final [huzzah!!!], I pretty much got out of school at 10:00 a.m. I was pretty stoked, as every kid is. The weather was back to beautiful, I had a nearly empty day ahead of me, and a lawn waiting to be mowed. For this reason, when I arrived home I promptly changed into my Richard Simmons shorts, slapped on some sunblock to arms and face, and headed out. Life was grand until I hit the south portion of my back yard [chronologically last in my routine], where the cotton wood trees decided to dump ten septillion cotton pods on the ground. This wouldn't be a problem were it not that my lawn mower mulches everything, and cotton tends to be spat back out. By the end of my lawn, I looked like a gigantic fuzzy marshmallow. I can't say that it was the prettiest sight, but there was definitely an element of humor, once I cleared the fibrous mess out of my lungs and could laugh.

Ever since a few weeks ago when my mom made one of the most amazing cold noodle salads ever, I've been craving feta non-stop. Not only feta, but most Greek foods, including but not limited to olives, gyros, brined cucumbers, ect. Today, I decided to recreate the salad, with different proportions, being more vegetables and feta, with less noodles. In the process however, I discovered that I was out of tomatoes. Normally, I would completely rejoice. However, seeing as I needed them to recreate the jazz, I waited until my mom got home, and then dragged her to the store to help me pick out tomatoes. Yes. I'm awful at picking produce out, most of the time. My worst subject is tomatoes, because I don't like them, so I'm not sure what they're supposed to look and feel like. Anywho, the rest I've become more skilled at, so no worries. No rotten onions for me! :D

The point being, I just finished the creation of beauty, and it was truly amazing. Made of fresh cucumbers, tomatoes, red and green bell peppers, black olives, small conch noodles and fetta with a dressing of oil and vinegar, it was fabulous. Feel free to try it, because it's definitely amazing. [:

Seeing as I'm enamored again, I suppose I should be off to party, so I can sleep in during the 5th hour final tomorrow. Cheers! :D

White Skies, Lockers and RAIN!!!

Yesterday was incredibly strange. I went to the neighboring city twice for various appointments, the first to get my face back, and the second to regulate my qi. Or something like that. :D As promised [I think I promised you this....? ], pictures of prom [from waaaaaaaaay long ago] and my normal face. If you're interested. :D

Anywho, today I had my second hour final. It was absolutely ridiculous. Happily, I never have to go to another stupid class of that again. It truly was a waste of my time.

However, My locker says otherwise. Not really, but there's pretty much the end of a vortex in there. I'm not kidding! I've found so many things in there that I have no recollection even owning. It's absolutely absurd. Now I'm stuck with cleaning it all out before the end of Thursday.... GREAT! I returned all of my text books to the book room. That lightened my life about 40 pounds worth. :D

After school I even applied for a job. That should indicate what kind of a day it's been. [: Sadly, I lost the schedule for the CC workouts this summer.... Now I have to go back and get another one. Shazam. I can deal with that.

Unfortunately, it's raining. This wouldn't be such a catastrophe were it not Tuesday. Tuesday wouldn't be so bad if it weren't my typical mowing day for my yard. NOT! Cool. I'm cold, crank, and had to ride on my rent's stationary bike in my smelly basement for
cardio today. Blegh. It smells like... old people. Or
something close.

I
suppose I'm done complaining, and back to photo editing. Or something cool like that. :D Cheers!
