Ok ok ok ok, I've been totally out of town, so don't even try to guilt me for not blogging. You wouldn't have either, had you been where I have been. Not that I walked through the Valley of Death and Shadows or anything cool like that.... :D
The whole point of making the ridiculous trip to Utah was to check out the vibes of the two colleges I'm interested in that hood of the states, those being Southern Utah University and [surprise] Brigham Young University-Provo. Haha. I know. Cliche, right?
On our way to Ceder City, Utah [which is a 9.5 hour drive from our house, unannounced to us, seeing as we (we being my rents and I) thought it was 8.... :D ] we stopped to see my amazing brother and his wife in Provo, who are some of my favorite people. Seeing as we could only stay for a few minutes before we had to hit the road again, my parents decided to buy take-out, versus prepping an entire meal for the five of us. With this in mind, they bought Chinese food. Love it. Hands down. But not the American Chinese food. That's gross. Just bad. Anywho, keep in mind that I had successfully and healthfully been a vegetarian from the Saturday before this Wednesday. Well.... :D That crashed when they brought home Orange Chicken. As much as I love soy and beans, there's no substitute for Orange Chicken....
After that bundle of fun, we headed out on the road again, and once again, my dad crashed in the back seat. Out of the 9.5 hour drive, the only part he wasn't asleep was when I was driving. Go figure....
Three and a half hours later, we arrived [surprisingly in one piece] to the Ceder City Center. Or, the center of a very small town. Because I've stopped watching TV and the improvement of my life has been astounding, I vetoed the proposition to watch TV at the hotel. Because of this, the only available vieweing times [for my Dad, because he's the only one who still watches it. I should amend that: I watch movies and film specials, but I'm not so much for flat out TV shows and series. Not my thing really.] were when I was out of the room, or when I was in the shower and doing my hair. That sounded reasonable enough to me, but then again, I made the rule, so why wouldn't it? Apparently it was dictator-esque. My bad.
The tour for SUU was very convincing, AND I got an amazing red T-shirt with the school dealio on it. How cool was that? Maybe if you're lucky I'll post a picture later or something. While the placement into Medical School were excellent for SUU, the population ofthe school having 7500 wasn't exactly what I was looking for. Don't get me wrong; small schools have their places, and many many advantages [like small classes and a better student to teacher ratio], BUT! I'm not overly thrilled with the prospect of only 7500 people to hang out with. That's not exactly my flavor. However, the scenery and landscape of the area was fabulous! :D Love red rock...
Three hours or so after the tour we arrived in Provo for the next day's tour of BYU. Happily, my aforementioned brother attends BYU, and knows the school very well. His wife also attended BYU. Because of this, the next day on our tour he was able to give valuable information that the tour guide missed. Major plus.
The same day our rents left back home, and I got to hang out with my brother and sister-in-law. I love them oodles. :D We went grocery shopping, and went to their friends' house [who I happen to blogstock.... That was cool!] to watch a German Foreign Film titled Vitus. Oh. My. Gosh. Loved. It. THIS! Much. It was absoltuely amazing and I'm NOT! just saying that because it was a piano movie. Hahaha.... :D
Woo hoo! I'm gone to finish more posts! Oh. P.S. The second night was severely cacaphonous due to my rents' inharmonious snoring. That was a fun night. Cheers.
